It is important to start your morning off right as it sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Forming healthy morning habits will help you to achieve success as it influences how you would like to feel, act and think for the rest of the day. Pressing the snooze button and rushing out of the house for work, without breakfast will attract chaos to your day.
Morning rituals include a mixture of methods to cleanse your mind, body and soul. This helps you get started for the day, boost happiness, productivity and helps you take control of your day rather than letting the day run away. As well as the methods below, remember to drink water, avoid screen-time and have a nutritious, delicious breakfast.
The whole ritual takes around 20 minutes, maybe 30 minutes if you enjoy a long shower like me! If time is not on my side or a private space isn’t available, affirmations and/or gratitude in the shower also help to start the day on the right foot!
Shower
Starting the morning with a shower is more than physically cleansing yourself, a shower energetically awakens your spirit and your mind. Water itself has powerful energy healing elements and wash off any unwanted energy helping to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul.

After showering, fresh and comfortable clothes are a winner to help you settle for a short meditation
Sage
I think of sage as an energetic massage, as the smoke passes around my body, it helps to cleanse, balance and uplift my energy, banishing negativity.
Sage is scientifically proven to release negative ions, when burning sage, it's important to open a window so those negative ion’s can release from your space leaving it purified.
As well as uplifting your mood, sage is also known to improve intuition, memory and focus.
Gratitude
I enjoy writing 3 things I'm grateful for from the previous day. This helps with the flow of positive emotions, helps you feel present and improves optimism. Gratitude lists can include something you have in your life daily such as food and shelter or it can go deeper such as a wonderful conversation you had with someone.
Intentions
After gratitude I set my intentions for the day. This helps to pre-path your day such as ‘today I will eat 5 fruits and veg’, or something that is out of your control to help manifest such as ‘today the estate agents will call me back with good news’.

I will then place my crystals on top of my journal and go into a meditation practice
Meditation/breath work
I try to do 10 minutes every morning, of course this could be difficult with time restrictions, even 5 minutes will make a difference to your day. Meditation and breath-work helps to calm and centre your mind, improving self-awareness and presence.
Using the ‘Insight Timer’ app, I set a gong timer for the allocated time I have for my practice. There are so many techniques which we can explore in my meditation and mindfulness classes, I do what I am called to do on the day but try to continue the same technique for a week to help deepen my practice.

Affirmations
Affirmations are aligned with the lunar cycle, setting new affirmations every full and new moon. Affirmations are statements for long-term effects. Such as ‘I am confident’, ' I give and receive love daily’ and my favourite ‘I am aligned with the universe’.
Affirmations should be said affirmatively, meaningfully and most importantly with feelings as it is your feelings that project out to the universe.
Thank you
Bring your hands to your heart centre, in namaste and say thank you.
This may be a general thank you for everything you have, or a thank you to god, the universe or your higher self.
My personal favourite is a quote from Victoria Maxwell’s book…
“Thank you for this day, thank you for this life,
Thank you for everything I am and everything I have”.
